Family values seminar held in Paşevik village for Mother’s Day in Western Thrace

A special Mother’s Day event focusing on the importance of family values in modern society was organized by the Family Unit of the Mufti’s Office of İskeçe in Paşevik village, located in the Mustafçova municipality of Western Thrace.

The seminar, titled “The Value of Being a Family in the Modern World,” attracted strong participation from local residents and community members. The program was held with the support of Mustafa Trampa, who has actively supported social and family-oriented initiatives in the region.

The event highlighted the role of the family as a unifying and protective institution amid the social and cultural challenges brought by modern life. Speakers Sebile Petlo and Arziye Cambaz emphasized that a family is built not only on living under the same roof, but also on values such as love, compassion, responsibility, patience, and sacrifice.

During the seminar, special attention was given to the role of mothers in strengthening family structures, shaping children’s character and identity, and preserving the moral fabric of society. Participants also exchanged views on improving family communication, raising children with cultural and spiritual values, and maintaining strong family ties in contemporary society.

Held in the village of Paşevik under the municipality of Mustafçova in Western Thrace, the program was regarded as an important example of the Mufti’s Office’s ongoing efforts to support women, strengthen family life, and encourage social solidarity within the Turkish Muslim minority community.

The seminar concluded with a question-and-answer session and informal discussions among participants.
