€86 million rehabilitation project launched for burned forests in Meriç
The Greek government has approved an €86 million rehabilitation initiative to restore forest areas in the Meriç region that were devastated by recent wildfires, marking one of the country's largest post-fire environmental recovery projects.
The programme includes large-scale reforestation, erosion control measures, restoration of damaged ecosystems and infrastructure improvements aimed at reducing the long-term environmental impact of the fires.
