EMT Region participates in PHILOXENIA 2025 Tourism Fair

The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) successfully concluded its participation in the PHILOXENIA 2025 International Tourism Fair held in Selanik. This year’s representation once again demonstrated the steady strengthening of the region’s promotional efforts in the field of tourism.

A Dynamic and Impressive Stand

With its dynamic presentation, professional preparation, and high visitor interest, the EMT stand stood out among the most impressive regional participations at the fair.

Strong Support from Municipalities

Out of the 22 municipalities within the region, 10 took part — either with their own stands or jointly within the EMT pavilion. This collective presence enabled a comprehensive showcase of the region’s tourism richness from east to west, north to south.

High Visitor Turnout

Over the three-day fair, the EMT stand welcomed thousands of visitors, including officials from the Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization (EOT), and other institutions.

Important Meetings and New Partnerships

Meetings held with Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni, Deputy Interior Minister Kostas Gkioylekas, tourism agencies, hoteliers, thematic tourism representatives, and cultural associations highlighted EMT’s growing visibility and its determination to act as a prominent player in the tourism landscape.

Award-Winning Promotion Efforts

EMT’s World Travel Awards recognition also drew considerable attention at the fair. Visitors showed strong interest in the region’s award-winning promotional initiatives, as well as presentations on its tourist routes and experiences.

Next Destination: Poland

The region continues its international promotional campaign. Next week, a regional delegation will attend a major tourism fair in Poland, aiming to further enhance its visibility in external markets. Poland is among the countries that send an increasing number of tourists to the region every year.
