Eastern Macedonia–Thrace Cultural Center unveils 2026 program
Presented under the title “Petrokalamithra”, the new program will be hosted at the Gümülcine Music Hall and the Art and Thought Center in İskeçe. The initiative aims to further strengthen cultural life in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace through diverse and inclusive programming.
A Broad Cultural and Educational Agenda
According to the organization’s statement, the 2026 program builds on the earlier “Experiments I–IV” initiative implemented during the 2024–2025 period. Following infrastructure and technical upgrades, the Cultural Center now seeks to operate as a more functional and accessible hub for artistic expression and learning.
The upcoming program includes concerts, theater performances, film screenings, book presentations, exhibitions, and a variety of educational activities. Events scheduled for February and March feature a book presentation on artificial intelligence and human rights, multiple film screenings and theatrical productions, as well as concerts by Turnas & Tsaknis, an Argentine tango performance, and a concert dedicated to the works of Ennio Morricone.
Educational Activities and Free Programs for Students
In addition to performances, the Gümülcine Music Hall will host free educational programs for students, guided tours, and workshops in creative writing, photography, and cinema. One of the highlights at the end of January will be the “Viennese Waltzes” concert, featuring the Johann Strauss Virtuosi ensemble.
Throughout 2026, seasonal exhibitions will also take place in both İskeçe and Gümülcine, further enriching the region’s cultural calendar and offering ongoing opportunities for public engagement with the arts.
Event schedules and ticket information are available through the platforms stepo.gr and more.com, according to the organizers.
