Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region participates in BEYOND 2025 tech fair in Athens
The Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region took part in the BEYOND 2025 technology and innovation fair held in Athens from April 4 to 6, 2025. Representing the region at this prestigious international event was Alexandros Iosifidis, Deputy Regional Governor for Thematic Development, Entrepreneurship, Research, Innovation, and Social Economy.
FOCUS ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
This year’s fair centered around the theme "AI Reality Bites," highlighting the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on society and the economy. The event featured prominent international speakers and high-level presentations on cutting-edge technologies.
INNOVATIVE AGRITECH PROJECT
Among the regional highlights was the presentation of the #DigiAgriFood project by Democritus University. The initiative, developed in collaboration with the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region, aims to advance entrepreneurship in agriculture through the integration of digital tools.
HIGH-LEVEL MEETINGS
On the sidelines of the event, Alexandros Iosifidis held discussions with several key figures, including Greece’s European Commissioner A. Cicikostas, Deputy Minister of Innovation and Development S. Kalafatis, and Secretary General for Research and Innovation A. Gaitanis. Additional meetings were held with Minister of Labor and Social Security N. Kerameos, Deputy Minister of Development L. Tsavdaridis, and President of the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce I. Voutsinas.
