The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMTH) has officially joined the Economic Network of the Three Seas Regions, following a signing ceremony held during a local government conference in Lublin, Poland.

The agreement was signed during the Three Seas Local Government Congress, which took place on May 27–28, with EMTH represented by Deputy Regional Governor Charalampos Dalkitsis and EU Policies and Projects Officer Thomas Kikis from the Region’s Brussels Office.

Acting on behalf of Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis, Dalkitsis signed the accession agreement, marking the region’s entry into a platform aimed at strengthening sustainable development, cross-border cooperation, and economic and social cohesion among participating regions.

During the conference, Dalkitsis also participated as a speaker in a panel discussion on energy security, where he presented the energy profile of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and highlighted the region’s strategic role in Southeastern Europe’s broader energy landscape.

The visit also included a series of meetings with representatives of regional and local authorities from other participating countries, focusing on future cooperation opportunities and shared development priorities.

Officials described the accession as an important step in enhancing the international presence of the region and expanding its network of economic and institutional partnerships across Europe.
