Dr. Sadık Ahmet to be commemorated on 31st anniversary of his death

Dr. Sadık Ahmet, a prominent leader of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and founder of the Friendship Equality Peace (FEP) Party, will be commemorated on the 31st anniversary of his death.
The memorial ceremony will take place on July 24 at 19:00 at Kahveci Cemetery in Gümülcine, where Dr. Sadık Ahmet’s grave is located.
The ceremony will include prayers and commemorative speeches honoring Ahmet’s legacy and his role in the political and social history of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace.
Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who served as an independent member of parliament and led the DEB Party, remains a symbolic figure for many members of the Western Thrace Turkish community due to his advocacy for minority rights and equality.
