Dr. Sadık Ahmet to be commemorated in İzmit on 31st anniversary of his passing

A memorial ceremony will be held in İzmit to mark the 31st anniversary of the passing of Dr. Sadık Ahmet, the late leader of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority and founder of the Friendship, Equality and Peace (DEB) Party.
The memorial ceremony will be organized by the İzmit branch of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD) on Sunday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m. in front of the Dr. Sadık Ahmet Monument at Doğu Kışla Park.
The association invited members of the public to attend the event honoring Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who remains a symbolic figure in the struggle for the rights and freedoms of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority.
Known for his decades-long efforts to raise awareness of the political, social and cultural rights of Western Thrace Turks, Dr. Sadık Ahmet continues to be remembered by the community in Türkiye and Western Thrace.
