Dr. Sadık Ahmet movie wins best director award in Turkmenistan

The TRT co-production Sadık Ahmet, which portrays the life of Western Thrace Turkish Minority leader Dr. Sadık Ahmet, was honored with the "Best Director" award at the Korkut Ata Film Festival held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.

The award ceremony was attended by Dr. Sadık Ahmet’s wife, Işık Sadık Ahmet, the film’s director Hakan Yonat, and other distinguished guests.

Following the event, Işık Sadık Ahmet shared her gratitude on social media, stating:

“We are deeply honored that our film, which tells the epic struggle of Dr. Sadık Ahmet, a leader of the Western Thrace Turks, was awarded ‘Best Director’ at the Korkut Ata Film Festival in Ashgabat. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Turkmenistan, Türksoy, the Republic of Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the General Directorate of Cinema, the MCG Film team, and our Ashgabat Ambassador Mr. Ahmet Demirok and his wife, Ms. Arzu Demirok, for their support.
