Deputy Baran makes a statement about World Childhood Cancer Day

Xanthi PASOK-KINAL Deputy Burhan Baran made a statement on the occasion of February 15 World Childhood Cancer Day and informed the public about the importance of early diagnosis, prevention, and symptoms in cancer and other important diseases.

In his statement on the subject, Deputy Baran stated the following:

"February 15 has been designated as Childhood Cancer Day. The aim of today is to raise public awareness about childhood cancer, to draw attention to the importance of early diagnosis in the disease, and to raise awareness of healthy individuals about the ways and symptoms of prevention.

Regarding a possible relapse of the disease, it is very important for young patients to be able to do all the necessary tests and controls in the state health units without interruption. To date, most of the State Health Units unfortunately have an outdated infrastructure and insufficient staff, which complicates the treatment process of patients struggling with such diseases. However, as the awareness of cancer increases and access to the physician becomes easier, the success of treatment increases over the years.

As a physician whose area of expertise is also psychiatry and oncology, I would like to point out to patients and their families that a diagnosis of cancer does not mean that their lives are over.

Our children are the future of our country and we must all be with them in these difficult times so that we can look to the future with hope."
