Dedeağaç ex-camp finally transferred to city; mayor thanks minister

Dedeağaç (Alexandroupolis) Mayor Ioannis Zamboukis thanked National Defense Minister Nikos Dendias for his help in the completion of the transfer to the city of former military camp 'Parmenion' and current 'Altinalmazis ecopark.

According to AMNA in a letter to the minister on Monday, Zamboukis said the city will be able to "utilize a space that remained inactive, bound by bureaucracy and inertia for several years."
The city has already built a theater and other leisure-related activities, and plans to add three music schools (Grades 1-12), sports infrastructure, and large green spaces. The park is named after a former and long-serving mayor of the city and was inaugurated in 2017.
