Corona aid applications begin for farmers
Eastern Macedonia Thrace State Vice President Tarkan Multaza made statements about the corona aid to farmers. Payments are scheduled for mid-June.
Tarkan Multaza stated that applications for aid will start on Monday, May 16th and payments are planned to be made in mid-June. In a statement on his social media account, Multaza said, "We have to fight together for this region, there is still hope.”
Tarkan Multaza's statement on the subject is as follows:
“After my meeting with Yorgos Çamis, the official of the State Aid Unit of the Ministry of Agriculture, applications for corona aid will start on Monday, May 16th. Payments will be like June 15th. I would like to thank those who contributed to this aid, which will be just a breath of fresh air for our tobacconist, who is having a hard time due to increasing costs and low prices.
If the farmers of our region migrate because they cannot make a living at a time when there are great problems in food supply globally, it means that something is wrong.
Tobacco, like cotton, is a product that our whole country exports. Therefore, just as the state provides support for cotton according to acre, it is obligatory to give aid of 3 euros per kg produced for tobacco.
For this, we have to come together with the elected officials of our region, non-governmental organizations, opinion leaders and most importantly our youth, put aside our disagreements, problems and fight together for this region, there is still hope.”
