The final stage in the 90 euro ‘corona aid’ to tobacco producers

The ministry has issued a press release for the coronavirus aid financial support to be given for tobacco, lavender, table olives, dried figs, industrial potatoes and tangerines.

There was a positive development regarding the 90 euro coronavirus aid, which thousands of tobacco producers in Western Thrace have been waiting for a long time. Finally the Ministry has issued a press release on the subject.

With the publication of the press release on the new payments by the Ministry of Agriculture, Development and Food, the final stage of payments has been reached.

The Ministry announced that coronavirus aid will be provided to tobacco, lavender, table olives, dried figs, industrial potatoes and tangerine producers. The total amount of the aid will be 22.5 million euros.

The Joint Ministry Decision on the temporary state aid to be made to the producers in a difficult situation due to the coronavirus was published in the Official Gazette. In line with the decision, it is stated that the above-mentioned producers can benefit from ‘corona’ assistance.

According to the statement of the ministry,the temporary state aid to be given for the coronavirus is 22.5 million euros in total.

19,405,436.56 euros for 26,259 tobacco, lavender, table olives, dried fig producers, and 2,948,401.99 euros to 5,934 industrial potato and tangerine producers have started to be distributed.

It was noted that financial aid was deposited into the bank accounts of some farmers already.
