Cooperation for “health” between the regional government and the municipality
The Municipality of Komotini and the officials of the East Macedonia - Thrace State Presidency reached an agreement on cooperation in the field of health.
State and municipal officials gathered at the town hall and discussed the issue of health services
Mayor of Komotini Giannis Garanis, East Macedonia - Thrace Region Presidency Vice President for Public Health and Social Policies Aristidis Moissiadis, East Macedonia Thrace Region Presidency Health Advisor Dimitris Theodoridis, Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs and Solidarity Giannis Mourtidis, Komotini Municipality Multi-Purpose Cultural Center Programs Officer Archontoula Tsatsikou, municipality's social unit officers Athina Belia, Kostantinia Limperidou, Erasmia Patronidou, Irini Gutsioti, and Christos Sembetzis attended.
At the meeting, Deputy Mayor of Komotini Murtidis and other officials of the municipality informed the State Presidency officials about the studies and programs implemented in the field of health.
The two sides agreed to prepare a joint action plan.
The Mayor of Komotini, Giannis Garanis, thanked the provincial presidency officials for their efforts to cooperate for health.
“We are open to joint programs. Our goal is to help our citizens in the face of increasing social and economic problems. As the municipality, we have created a plan to support the homeless and citizens in need of daily nutrition with our authorized services. In addition, the municipality's fuel aid and food supplies from the social market will be doubled,” he said.
East Macedonia - Thrace Region Presidency Deputy Head of Public Health and Social Policies Aristidis Moissiadis said that the purpose of the meeting was primarily to exchange information on social policy and public health issues and to record the needs and suggestions of Komotini Municipality.
Moisiadis said, "We presented the new ESPA program to examine the possible needs of Komotini Municipality that we can meet. We discussed the cooperation between East Macedonia - Thrace State Presidency and Komotini Municipality Social Services Directorate. We also agreed to organize a joint event to honor mothers on May 8, Mother's Day.
