Celebration ceremony at the Turkish Consulate General
A celebration ceremony was held at the Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini due to the Feast of Sacrifice.
The feast ceremony was held on Monday, July 11, between 10:00 and 11:00.
At the ceremony held in the garden of the Consulate General, Türkiye’s Consul General to Komotini Murat Ömeroğlu and his wife Aslı Ömeroğlu, as well as assistant consuls and consular officials welcomed the guests.
Officials from all over Western Thrace and many Western Thrace Turks attended the ceremony, which is traditionally held every year.
Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete, Xanthi SIRIZA deputy Hüseyin Zeybek, Xanthi KINAL deputy Burhan Baran, Friendship Equality Peace Party Chairman Çiğdem Asafoğlu, mayors, vice-presidents of the state, council members, heads of associations and representatives of non-governmental organizations attended. It was noteworthy that many young people studying at university attended this year's feast.
