BTAYTD Women’s Branch elections scheduled for February 16 in Gümülcine
The Women’s Branch of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (BTAYTD) has announced that its upcoming elections will take place on Monday, February 16, 2026.
According to an official statement from the association, voting will be held between 18:00 and 20:00 at the BTAYTD central office in Komotini (Gümülcine).
Contingency Date Announced
If the required quorum is not met on February 16, the elections will be postponed and held on Wednesday, February 18, at the same venue and during the same hours.
Strengthening Minority Civic Participation
The BTAYTD is one of the most prominent civil society organizations representing the Turkish minority of Western Thrace. Its Women’s Branch plays an active role in promoting educational initiatives, community engagement, and women’s participation in social and cultural affairs.
The upcoming elections are expected to determine the new leadership that will guide the branch’s activities for the next term.
