The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has issued a high wildfire risk alert (risk category 3) for the İskeçe Regional Unit today, Tuesday.

The General Secretariat for Civil Protection has issued a high wildfire risk alert (risk category 3) for the İskeçe Regional Unit today, Tuesday.

As a result, and following the recommendation (Protocol No. 1951) from the Fire Service Directorate of İskeçe, the Deputy Governor of İskeçe, Polyxeni Brika, has activated Decision No. 141466/1338/29-4-2025 (ADA: ΨΗ457ΛΒ-ΟΔΞ), prohibiting the movement, access, and stay of people and vehicles in the suburban forests of the region.

This ban is effective from Monday, August 5, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., and will remain in place for as long as the wildfire risk index stays at level 3, 4, or 5.

⛔ Affected Forest Areas:
Suburban forest of the Municipality of İskeçe, including the small forest north of the Koyunköy (Kimmeria) settlement

Suburban forest of the Okçular (Toxotes)-Çakırlı (Galani) area, Municipality of İnhanlı (Topeiros)

Forests near Paşalimanı (Porto Lagos), including:

The western entrance to the settlement

The area surrounding the heron colony

Forest near Avdira beach, around the student summer camps

⚠️ Public Advisory:
Citizens are urged to exercise extreme caution and avoid any outdoor activities that may trigger a fire (such as machinery use, open flames, etc.).
In case of fire, immediately call the Fire Department at 199.
