Charity bazaar in Dinkler village brings community together to support local mosque
A two-day charity bazaar held in Dinkler village in İskeçe (Xanthi), Western Thrace, on October 10–11 brought together local residents and visitors from neighbouring villages to raise support for the village mosque.
Organised with the participation of the local community, the event highlighted solidarity, cooperation and the tradition of charitable giving. Residents had begun preparations days in advance, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the weekend.
The bazaar attracted representatives of the Turkish minority community, including Mustafa Trampa, mufti of İskeçe and president of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board; MPs Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran; and Kerim Abdurahimoğlu, president of the İskeçe Turkish Union. Local officials and other guests also attended.
COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR THE MOSQUE
Speakers thanked the people of Dinkler, the mosque's trustee committee and the Dinkler Hanımeli Association for their invitation and contributions to the organisation of the bazaar.
They also expressed their hopes for the event's success and thanked everyone who helped make it possible.
The gathering underscored the role of community-led initiatives in sustaining local religious institutions and preserving traditions of mutual assistance in Western Thrace.
