Aydın Ahmet re-elected president of the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers’ Union
The Western Thrace Turkish Teachers’ Union (BTTÖB) held its Ordinary General Assembly on June 7 at its headquarters in Komotini, where members elected new governing bodies and renewed the mandate of President Aydın Ahmet.
The assembly attracted strong participation from members, who voted to determine the organization’s new Board of Directors and Supervisory Board for the upcoming term. Following the congress, the newly elected board convened its first meeting and unanimously re-elected Aydın Ahmet as president.
The General Assembly was chaired by Ali Alioğlu, Secretary General of the Association of Western Thrace Minority University Graduates (WTMUGA). The secretariat duties were carried out by teachers Sabiha Arif and Sadık Ali Nalbant.
A total of 168 ballots were cast, of which 164 were deemed valid. In the Board of Directors election, Aydın Ahmet received the highest number of votes with 150.
The results of the Board of Directors election were as follows:

Nilay Mümin — 119 votes
Sevgi Molla — 118 votes
Asime Hasanoğlu — 116 votes
Batuhan Hasan — 112 votes
Emine Ramadan — 110 votes
Caner Dayı — 95 votes
Gökmen Sabrioğlu — 51 votes
In the Supervisory Board election, the candidates received the following votes:
Emine Hüseyinoğlu — 115 votes
Belgin Molla Ahmet Mehmet — 103 votes
Özgür Yusuf — 96 votes
Şerafettin Hurşit — 85 votes
During the first meeting of the newly elected Board of Directors, attended by Congress Chairman Ali Alioğlu, members determined the distribution of responsibilities for the new term.
