Award ceremony held for the İskeçe Turkish Union photography competition

The award ceremony for the "Western Thrace Through the Lens of Youth" Photography Competition, organized by the Youth Branch of the İskeçe Turkish Union, was successfully held.

The award ceremony for the highly anticipated photography competition took place on the evening of Friday, February 7, at the İskeçe Turkish Union’s headquarters. The event attracted significant interest from young participants and was also attended by various dignitaries.

Among those present at the ceremony were Turkey’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, İskeçe Mufti Mustafa Trampa, Member of Parliament Hüseyin Zeybek, President of the İskeçe Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (BTAYTD) Hüseyin Baltacı, DEB Party Vice President Bahri Belço, and members of the minority press.

During the event, winners of the competition were announced. Hasan Karadayı was awarded first place, Enes Karadayı secured second place, Nergis Dahil took third place, and Ravza Topçu received the Jury's Special Award.

The Head of the Youth Branch, Önder Şabanoğlu, shared that a total of 61 photographs had been submitted for the competition. He also explained that 19 jury members evaluated the entries through a dedicated online platform with secure access.

Dignitaries attending the event congratulated the young participants in their speeches and encouraged them to continue their artistic pursuits.

As a token of encouragement, Türkiye’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, presented all participants with a copy of Atatürk’s book Nutuk along with a pen set.

The Consulate General of Türkiye in Komotini also shared a post about the event on social media, stating:
