Bulustra (Avdira) Municipality main opposition leader Athanasios Kritsinis said about the attack on the Turkish cemetery: "I am not responsible, but I apologize."
Bulustra Municipality main opposition leader Athanasios Kritsinis expressed his regret that the Muslim Turkish cemetery in Horozlu (Petinos) was plundered by the municipality and said that although he was not responsible he apologized for this big mistake.
Stating that the situation should definitely be improved and stated that, “I believe that the mayor has responsibilities in this matter. These responsibilities need to be explored.”
The statement of Athanasios Kritsinis to MİLLET is as follows:
“It is with great sadness that I have identified what happened in the Muslim cemetery here today. This does not honor us at all. As you know, Christians and Muslims live in peace here.
I can even say that we are a worldwide good example. I believe that the mayor has responsibilities in this regard; these responsibilities need to be investigated. There are responsible people here.
I must honestly tell you that I am truly sorry. I'm not the mayor, I'm not responsible, but I want to make a formal apology here through you. This situation needs to improve.
As far as I know, there is currently no foundation management committee in this village. My request from the two deputies, Mr. Zeybek and Mr. Baran, is to form a foundation committee immediately.
We have to learn how to handle this situation in a short time. Let everything be alright. Let's continue our normal lives.
I don't want to say anything more. I am really sad. I believe everything will be alright. Thank you so much."
