Archbishop of America to pay visit in Western Thrace

The Archbishop of the American Orthodox Church, Elpidoforos, is coming to Western Thrace at the invitation of Thrace Democritus University.

Archbishop Elpidoforos will attend the honorary doctorate ceremony that will be given to him by the Greek Philology Department of Thrace Democritus University. He will also take part in the ceremony of renaming Maronia Square as "Archbishop Michael Square of America".

According to news released, the Archbishop of the American Orthodox Church, Elpidoforos, will go to Thrace Democritus University, where he will receive the title of honorary doctor after the religious ceremony in the large church in Yenicemahalle, Komotini on Wednesday, March 2nd.

On Thursday, March 3, he will attend the ceremony in Maronia Square, which will be named after the late Maronian Archbishop of America Michael.
