A high school teacher in Alexandroupoli was found guilty of sexually abusing a 17-year-old student.

The teacher of the General High School of Alexandroupolis, who was arrested by the police on 8 April following a complaint by a 17-year-old student, was sentenced by the court to 22 months imprisonment with a 3-year suspended sentence and a 300 euro fine.

The student alleged that the teacher followed her around the school in a threatening manner. The court convicted the teacher on charges of disrupting the functioning of the school, threats and sexual harassment. The teacher stated that he would appeal after the verdict.

This decision covers all the charges against the teacher and was issued on the grounds of disturbing the peace of the educational institution.
