AKTOR files another objection for Elmalı-Demircik Road Project

The construction of the highway linking Greece to Bulgaria has faced yet another delay, with a new objection adding to the ongoing 3.5-year postponement.
The construction firm AKTOR, responsible for building the Demircik-Bulgaria border road, has filed a new objection against the Elmalı-Demircik road tender, which it lost.
According to a report by ypodomes.gr, AKTOR has submitted a fresh appeal against the ODOS ATE company, which won the tender for the Elmalı-Demircik road after a prolonged legal process.
Details regarding the timeline for the resolution of AKTOR's objection have not been disclosed.
It is important to note that the tender process, which began in September 2021, has been subject to multiple appeals and annulments. Initially, ODOS ATE won the tender with a 21.32% discount, but following an objection from AKTOR, a second company was temporarily appointed as the contractor. Subsequently, ODOS ATE successfully appealed and regained the position of temporary contractor.
Now, AKTOR has submitted a new objection to the tender won by ODOS ATE.
For the project to proceed, the winner of the tender must be confirmed.
