Accident on the Egnatia: woman driver dies

The car driven by a 68-year-old woman left the road and hit a pavement in the tunnel. The woman lost her life.
A fatal road accident occurred on Tuesday (13/2) at the Vasilikos tunnel on the Egnatia Odos, in which a 68-year-old driver lost his life.
According to ERT, the accident occurred for unknown reasons when the car driven by the 68-year-old woman left the road and hit a pavement in the tunnel.
The car turned into a pile of iron and the driver was seriously injured. An ambulance arrived at the scene and transported the injured 68-year-old to the Emergency Department of Igoumenitsa, then to the Filiates Hospital, where he died.
The circumstances of the accident are being investigated by the Igoumenitsa Traffic Police Department.
