Accident in Komotini: Car hits pedestrian
A traffic accident occurred today around 11.00 in the city centre of Komotini, causing concern among the public. The accident happened at the traffic lights at the junction in front of the Town Hall of Komotini.
According to eyewitnesses, a car travelling from the city centre in the direction of Komotini Hospital hit a pedestrian who was trying to cross the road at the crossing. As a result of the accident, the pedestrian collapsed after being hit by the car.
The paramedics, who arrived at the scene quickly, made the first intervention to the injured pedestrian and transferred him to Komotini Hospital by ambulance. It is learnt that the necessary treatments will be started after the first evaluation at the hospital to determine the seriousness of the injured pedestrian's health condition.
Police teams immediately arrived at the scene and started a detailed investigation on the accident. While security measures were taken in the area where the accident took place, efforts were made to ensure that the traffic flow continued in its normal course.
