ABTTF considered it an important step for the MERA25 Party to announce its program on minority policy in Western Thrace with a Turkish brochure.

The Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) considered it an important step for the MERA25 Party to announce its program on minority policy in Western Thrace with a Turkish brochure.

ABTTF President Halit Habipoğlu stated that the demands of the minority have been expressed so clearly for the first time by a political party regarding the MERA25 statement that includes minority problems and solutions.

Habipoğlu evaluated this step of the party as an important and positive step for the political history of the country.

ABTTF President Habipoğlu issued a statement on the subject.

The statement included the following:

 “As the general elections in our country, Greece, are approaching, political parties accelerated their electoral work.

It is an important step for the political history of our country that the MERA25 Party announced the party program about the minority policy towards our society and shared it with the public through brochures published in Turkish.

This is because the problems of our society and our rightful demands for the solution of our problems have been taken into account with such clear expressions for the first time by a political party represented in the national assembly.

I hope the rulers of our country will get the necessary messages from this exemplary step of the MERA25 Party.

We want our rights and freedoms to be respected and to be able to use them. As loyal citizens of our country, we do not want to be declared as “scapegoats” in politics and the media at every opportunity, and to be portrayed as a threat to the integrity and public order of our country.

As the Turkish society of Western Thrace, we demand and expect our country's administrators to take concrete steps based on goodwill and sincerity, taking into account our rightful demands for the solution of our problems.”
