ABTTF condemns provocative acts of appointed muftis
The ABTTF emphasized that the Turkish community of Western Thrace remains united against such provocations.
In his statement, ABTTF President Halit Habipoğlu declared: "We strongly condemn this provocative action carried out by the appointed mufti deputies, whom the Western Thrace Turkish community has never accepted, as it blatantly disregards our community's will and seeks to disrupt peace in the region. The mosque congregation, by standing with our elected mufti of Xanthi, gave the appointed mufti deputies the most fitting response right there at the mosque. As seen in Çınar Mosque, our community has always been and will continue to be united against such provocations. As ABTTF, we call upon the Greek government to cease disregarding our community's will, stop these blatant manipulations of our religious values, and promptly recognize the muftis elected by our people."
