ABTTF attends ATİB’s traditional iftar program in Cologne
The Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) participated in the traditional iftar program organized by the Union of European Turkish-Islamic Cultural Associations (ATİB) on March 13, 2025, in Cologne, Germany.
Representing ABTTF, Vice President Vedat Arap attended the event, alongside T.C. Cologne Consulate’s Consul Arzu Işık Ellialtıoğlu and T.C. Essen Consulate’s Deputy Consul Elif Sağlık. The iftar gathering also welcomed representatives from civil society, politics, business, arts, and academia.
A Gathering of Unity and Spirituality
The event, moderated by Cihan Kürşat Başöz, featured opening speeches by:
- Former ATİB President Durmuş Yıldırım,
- Consul Arzu Işık Ellialtıoğlu,
- ATİB President Imam Cengiz.
The program continued with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the call to prayer (adhan) by ATİB Hagen Religious Officer İbrahim Kaçmaz, marking the time for breaking the fast.
The traditional ATİB iftar has long served as an occasion to strengthen solidarity among the Turkish-Muslim community in Europe and promote intercultural dialogue during the holy month of Ramadan.
