A van carrying illegal immigrants in Komotini caught on the field

The incident took place between the villages Roditis and Thrilorio on Komotini (Gümülcine)-Sapes road. A Greek commercial vehicle, which contained about 30 illegal immigrants, entered in a ploughed field and stuck in the mud.

The incident took place between the villages Roditis and Thrilorio on Komotini (Gümülcine)-Sapes road. A Greek commercial vehicle, which contained about 30 illegal immigrants, entered in a ploughed field and stuck in the mud.
The driver started to run away leaving the immigrants and the van on the field in order to escape. As a result of the searches made in the area, the driver was caught by the police. All immigrants who wanted to run away were caught and brought to the side of the van.
The car was saved from the mud with the help of immigrants. Later, the immigrants were taken to the police office for their statements.
There is no precise information about where the immigrants came from, where they were going, and to whom their car belongs.
