Youth branches operating under the umbrella of Western Thrace Turkish minority institutions organized a trip to Thessaloniki.

Xanthi Turkish Union Youth Branch, Komotini Turkish Youth Union New Generation Branch and FEP Party Youth Branch organized a joint trip to Thessaloniki on Thursday, 17 November 2022.

50 young people from Western Thrace participated in the Thessaloniki tour.

Within the framework of the trip, the house where Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Turkish Republic was born was visited.

After the visit of Atatürk’s house the representatives of the youth branches were received by Efe Ceylan, Türkish Consul General of Thessaloniki.

Consul Efe Ceylan, who gave advice and listened to the ideas of the young people, was given gifts after the meeting and souvenir photos were taken in front of the Atatürk House to commemorate the day.

The management and members of the youth branches later moved to the Young Academics Association (GAT) Thessaloniki office. Young people were welcomed here by GAT Thessaloniki President Azra Hasan and other members.

Efe Ceylan, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Thessaloniki, also took part in the meeting of the young people.

Young people from Western Thrace had the opportunity to meet, speak and exchange opinion about their future.

The young people, who also had the opportunity to visit the city of Thessaloniki, spent a pleasant day visiting historical places and strolling along the coastline of Thessaloniki. The socio-cultural excursion program ended with a shopping mall visit.
