Restoration work at the house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of the Republic of Turkey, was born in Selanik is nearing completion. The residence, which has been serving as a museum, has been under restoration since December last year.

As of today (Thursday, October 16), the scaffolding surrounding the building’s exterior has been removed. Officials stated that the project is in its final phase and that the museum will reopen to visitors soon.

The restoration began on December 4, 2024, during which the museum was closed to the public. The project aims to restore the structure to its original appearance.
