2026 Seçek Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events program announced
The Seçek Minority Education and Culture Association (SEÇEK) has announced the program for the traditional “Seçek Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events 2026” festival, which will take place from July 31 to August 2, 2026, at the football field of Mehrkoz village in the Kozlukebir Municipality.
The three-day event will feature religious, cultural and sporting activities, as well as concerts and folklore performances, bringing together participants from across the region.
The program will begin on Friday, July 31, with a Mevlid-i Şerif ceremony. Following Friday prayers, Seçek Ağa Ahmet Kaydır will host a meal for participants. The evening program will continue with a projection show and a concert by Foto Life Orchestra.
On Saturday, August 1, the second day of the festival will begin with Seçek Ağa Ahmet Kaydır’s arrival at the wrestling field. Throughout the day, traditional competitions including the Mehmet Hilmi Kır Running Race, tug-of-war and sack races will be held.
The evening program will feature performances by popular artists Yiğit Sarıkaya and Irmak Arıcı.
The final day of the event, Sunday, August 2, will begin with protocol receptions and official speeches, followed by folklore performances. The highlight of the festival, the traditional Seçek Oil Wrestling competition, will then take place at the wrestling arena.
The event will conclude with a medal ceremony and a concert by Dilek Koç.
