Western Thrace representatives attend Hacı Bektaş Veli commemoration in Nevşehir
The Hacı Bektaş Veli commemoration ceremonies were held with great participation in the town of Hacıbektaş, Nevşehir, under the theme “Our Essence is Unity, Our Heritage is Brotherhood.”
Representatives of the Alevi-Bektashi community from Western Thrace also took part. Among them were Ahmet Paşa, a dede (spiritual leader) of the Seyyid Ali Sultan Dergah, Ali Koç, the 2025 Seçek Ağa, and Necmettin Kahya, President of the Seçek Minority Education and Culture Association.
In a statement shared on its social media account, the Seçek Minority Education and Culture Association wrote:
“Seyyid Ali Sultan Dergah’s Dede Ahmet Paşa, 2025 Seçek Ağa Ali Koç, and our Association’s President Necmettin Kahya participated in the commemoration ceremonies of Hünkar Hacı Bektaş Veli, held under the theme ‘Our Essence is Unity, Our Heritage is Brotherhood.’ We would like to thank, first and foremost, our President of the Alevi-Bektashi Culture and Cemevi, Ms. Esma Ersin, as well as the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism for their kind invitation.”
