Event in Izmit for Jan.29 Resistance Day
The Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association, the umbrella organization of the Western Thrace Turks living in Türkiye, announced that it will organize an event on the occasion of the 29 January National Resistance and Social Solidarity Day.
It is stated that the event will take place on Sunday, January 29, in Izmit.
In the January 29 program, which will be organized with the contributions of the Izmit Branch of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association, in addition to the protocol speeches, İskeçe (Xanthi) Turkish Union (ITB) President Ozan Ahmetoğlu will make a presentation on "On its 35th Anniversary Understanding January 29".
It was noted that in the January 29 event in Izmit, a march to the National Identity Monument will be accompanied by a cortege, and the opening ceremony will be held in memory of the late Mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete.
In addition to Kocaeli region, Western Thrace Turks living in various provinces of Türkiye are expected to attend the event.
