Raphinha double hands Barcelona Spanish Super Cup glory over Real Madrid

Raphinha scored twice as Barcelona retained the Spanish Super Cup with a 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in an entertaining Clasico final in Jeddah on Sunday, securing a record-extending 16th title.

The Brazilian winger struck either side of half-time, with his second goal—a deflected long-range effort in the 73rd minute—proving decisive. Robert Lewandowski also scored for Barcelona, while Vinicius Junior and Gonzalo Garcia were on target for Madrid.

Barcelona took the lead in the 36th minute through Raphinha after dominating possession. Madrid hit back in stoppage time when Vinicius levelled with a fine individual effort, but Lewandowski restored Barça’s advantage moments later with a delicate chip. Madrid equalised again before the break as Gonzalo Garcia finished after a header struck the crossbar, sending the teams in level at 2-2.

The second half was more cautious, with clear chances limited until Raphinha struck again to swing the final Barcelona’s way. Real Madrid pressed late and enjoyed a numerical advantage after Frenkie de Jong was sent off in stoppage time, but were unable to force extra time.

The victory marked Barcelona’s fourth trophy under coach Hansi Flick and extended their winning streak to 10 matches in all competitions, while Real Madrid’s five-match run came to an end.
