New sports digital ticketing system for permanent residents abroad via Gov.gr Wallet
Permanent residents abroad can now verify their sports tickets and season passes via the Gov.gr Wallet app. Starting Tuesday, this new feature allows the application to read passports using the embedded NFC chip providing a streamlined and secure way for fans to enter stadiums.
This initiative, a collaboration between Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou and Deputy Sports Minister Yannis Vroutsis aims to enhance security levels at sports venues. Permanent residents abroad with foreign passports can now easily and efficiently access stadiums using their e-tickets through the Gov.gr Wallet app.
How It Works:
Obtaining Tickets: Fans purchase their tickets through authorized ticket providers.
Using Gov.gr Wallet:
Open the Gov.gr Wallet app and select "event tickets" in guest mode, bypassing user authentication and taxisnet passwords.
Use the app to scan the passport via its NFC chip, linking passport details to the ticket.
Enter the reservation code found on the ticket.
Entering the Stadium:
At the stadium, place the mobile device with the personalized ticket near the scanning and recognition devices for entry.
Soon, permanent residents abroad will also be able to verify their tickets using their NFC-enabled ID cards through the Gov.gr Wallet app.
If any issues arise during the passport scanning process, fans can manually enter their ticket code and seek assistance at the team's designated help desks for verification. Νew system promises a smoother and safer experience for all fans, ensuring that the identification process is both quick and reliable.
