Sarar, who had returned to Istanbul from abroad, was questioned in a preliminary probe into allegations of procuring and facilitating the use of narcotics. Tests conducted by the Forensic Medicine Institute found traces of narcotics in a hair sample, while blood, urine and nail tests returned negative results.
Following his release, Fenerbahce board member Ertan Torunogulari said Sarar had returned to the club and that management activities, including player transfers, would continue.
Sarar was referred to judicial authorities as the investigation remains ongoing.
