Xanthi was introduced to students and teachers from Poland, Turkey and Northern Macedonia

Thirteen students and six teachers were guided to the natural beauties and cultural sites of the area
Within the framework of the implementation of the European program Erasmus + KA229 "Breaking Barriers Through Sharing Treasures", The 10th Primary School of Xanthi, hosted in the city of Xanhti thirteen students and six teachers from Poland, Turkey and Northern Macedonia.
The delegations were warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Xanthi Mr. Tsepelis at the City Hall where he gave brief information about the city and offered traditional welcoming buffet.
The training program that lasted a week included a visit and information to the Delta Nestos, Porto Lagos port, a tour of the huge wetland and observation of the rich bird fauna through special equipment by a special guide of the Agency, a visit to the church.
Guest students also visited the archeological site and the Museum of Avdira, tour of the Old Town of Xanthi, the Folklore Museum and the Museum of Shadow. It also included a visit and tour of the archeological site of Philippi, in the city of Kavala and the cave of Alistrati in Serres.
In addition, creative activities on the subject of culture, art and music were carried out and riparian activities took place in Nestos, followed by a visit to the monasteries: "Archangeliotissa and Kalamou".
Teachers and students left the region with full of experiences, knowing the place and the culture, confirming that the specific European school partnership programs helps to strengthen the relations between different peoples and cultures and to develop new perspectives.
