Sixteen people were injured, including nine seriously, during a violent brawl at the Malakasa camp near Athens.

The clashes broke out shortly before 10 p.m. on Sunday. According to reports, a group of around 10 migrants began fighting for reasons that remain unknown. The altercation escalated into a larger conflict involving up to 80 people.

Nine migrants, all Egyptian nationals aged between 15 and 25, were hospitalized with injuries to their arms and legs.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
