Türkiye's new Ambassador to Athens announced

Turkish Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu announced the new ambassadorship and permanent representation duties of some ambassadors.

WHO IS AMBASSADOR ÇAĞATAY ERCIYES?
He graduated from TED Ankara College in 1984, from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of International Relations in 1988, and from Virginia University Rhodes Maritime Law Academy in 2002.
Professional Career
In 1988, he entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and became a Candidate Professional Officer in the Greek Department, and then held various positions.
He became the Deputy Director General of Maritime-Aviation, the Permanent Representative of Türkiye to the International Civil Aviation Organization headquartered in Montreal on September 1, 2012, and started his duty as the Beirut Ambassador as of September 15, 2015. He served as the Beirut Ambassador until April 8, 2018.
He served as a member of the Turkish delegation in the 2004 UN Cyprus negotiations and exploratory talks with Greece on the Aegean problems.
As of December 2018, he is the General Manager of Cyprus-Greece, Maritime-Aviation and Border.
He is married and has 1 child.
