Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni Visits Istanbul
Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni is paying a visit to Istanbul, where she will hold meetings with Turkish tourism professionals and discuss ways to strengthen the tourist flows between the two countries.
During her three-day visit, Kefalogianni will meet with members of the Association of Turkish Travel Agents (TURSAB) as part of the bilateral tourism cooperation agreed between the two countries, following the Greece-Türkiye Cooperation Summit held in Athens last December and the joint declaration on tourism signed with her Turkish counterpart, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
Moreover, Kefalogianni will meet with Patriarch Bartholomew to discuss ways to strengthen pilgrimage-religious tourism in Greece in destinations that have religious importance and that fall under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate.
According to a ministry announcement, Kefalogianni will inform the Patriarch on issues concerning international initiatives of Greece in the tourism field in relation to the environment and environmental protection.
On Wednesday, January 17, Kefalogianni will attend the blessing ceremony of the new office of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) in Istanbul.
The GNTO’s branch in Istanbul first opened its doors in 2014 during the previous tenure of Kefalogiannis as Greek tourism minister.
