Saint Paraskevi liturgy held on Bozcaada İsland
In a ceremony steeped in tradition, members of the Greek Orthodox community gathered at the historic Ayazma Monastery on Türkiye’s Bozcaada Island to celebrate the Feast of Saint Paraskevi.
The liturgy, held annually on July 26, was presided over by Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomew of İstanbul. Among the notable attendees was PASOK party leader Nikos Androulakis, who traveled from Greece for the event.
Known locally as the Ayazma Festival, the celebration drew Orthodox Christians from Greece and other countries, who congregated at the Ayazma area to take part in the religious observance.
Also in attendance were Konstantinos Koutras, Consul General of Greece in Istanbul, Metropolitan Kirillos Sykis of Gökçeada and Bozcaada, and numerous clergy members from abroad.
The annual liturgy at the Ayazma Monastery continues to serve as a powerful symbol of cultural and religious heritage for the Greek Orthodox faithful.
