The Traffic Police confirms over 20,000 violations every week!

72% of the offenses related to excessive speed, not wearing a protective helmet, not wearing a seat belt, not having a driving license and illegal parking.
It has been established as evidenced by the fact that the Traffic Police will confirm over 20,000 violations throughout the Territory every week with Greek drivers showing that they don't care about the Road Traffic Code and really do whatever they want.
The Traffic Police, in order to deal with the above situation and improve road safety on the roads, is carrying out a barrage of checks trying to reduce traffic accidents while removing license plates and driver's licenses...
In particular, between 20 and 26 November 2022, 96,813 traffic checks were carried out on drivers and vehicles and 20,816 violations were confirmed, of which 72% of the violations related to excessive speed, not using a protective helmet, not using a seat belt, revocation of a driving license and illegal parking!
As for the Regions where the most violations were recorded, Attica emerged as the champion with 4,680 calls. Followed by Thessaloniki with 2,913, Thessaly with 2,412, Central Macedonia with 1,931, Eastern Macedonia and Thrace with 1,388, Crete with 1,359, Western Greece with 1,298, Epirus with 1,158, Peloponnese with 946, Central Greece with 914, South Aegean with 349, Western Macedonia with 549, Ionian Islands with 399, North Aegean with 520 and South Aegean with 349 violations.
