Tax declarations 2025 without extensions: Key dates announced

For the first time, the 2025 tax declaration period in Greece comes with legislatively defined start and end dates. Submissions begin mid-March and must be completed by July 15, introducing clarity to the process.

New Features and Incentives

Filing Period: March to July 15, offering taxpayers a set timeframe for compliance.
Discounts:
A 4% discount for full tax payment by July 31.
Reduced to 3% or 2% for subsequent months to encourage early compliance.
Installments: The option for 8 monthly payments remains, with the first installment also due on July 31.

Penalties for Late Submission

Missing the deadline allows authorities to estimate taxes based on data such as income or lifestyle, applying significant penalties. While submitting later cancels estimates, fines remain.

For Public Entities

Public entities must register in the Annual Income File Submission Register on the “myAADE” platform by January 15, 2025. Non-compliance incurs fines of €2,500.

Economic Impact

The tax framework includes incentives like reduced social security contributions, benefiting employees with higher net wages and businesses with lighter tax burdens.

These changes aim to streamline tax procedures, reward early compliance, and enforce stricter control over tax submissions.
