Sunny weather today across Greece – rain and possible snow expected next week

According to Yiannis Stamatakis, owner of the meteorological service Forecast Weather Greece, the weather will remain generally fair, with weakened winds and temperatures that are relatively high for this time of year.

In the Ionian Sea, winds are blowing at 4 to 5 Beaufort, while in the Aegean Sea northeasterly winds of similar intensity are prevailing. During the early morning hours, local fog may form in parts of Epirus and Aetolia-Acarnania, particularly in mountainous and semi-mountainous areas.

Temperatures remain at relatively high levels for the season. In Attica, temperatures are expected to range between 7 and 17 degrees Celsius, with sunshine and only a few clouds mainly over the northern and eastern parts of the region. In Thessaloniki, temperatures will range from 4 to 17 degrees Celsius, with generally clear skies as well.

Across the rest of the country, temperatures may locally reach 18 degrees Celsius during midday, maintaining the mild and spring-like conditions seen in recent days.

However, a gradual change in the weather is expected over the weekend. From Friday through Sunday, there is a chance of local rain, mainly in Epirus, the southwestern Peloponnese, Crete—especially in the eastern parts—and the Dodecanese islands, including Karpathos, Kasos, Rhodes, and Kastellorizo. In some areas, isolated thunderstorms are also possible.

A more significant change in weather conditions is expected at the beginning of next week. From Monday through Wednesday, forecasters predict a deterioration in the weather, with successive waves of unsettled conditions bringing rain and thunderstorms to several parts of the country. Snowfall is also possible in mountainous areas, particularly in northern and western Greece.
