Strong winds disrupt ferry routes across Greece

Weather conditions remain difficult in many areas, as, according to the Meteorological Service, northerly winds of 8 Beaufort are blowing in the Aegean.

This situation affects certain routes in coastal shipping.

According to the port authority - Greek Coast Guard, from the port of Piraeus, after a new bulletin from the Meteorological Service, the catamaran routes for the Cyclades will be operated normally, while for the Argosaronic Gulf, the routes are operated only with the approval of the captain.

The ship routes from Rafina to the Cyclades are also not operating, while a ban on departure from the port of Lavrio is in force. The Agia Marina-Nea Stira and Kavala-Prinou lines are closed.

The routes for the Keramoti-Limenas Thassos line are operated only by closed type ships.

Passengers who are going to travel today are advised to contact the local port authorities and tourist agencies before their departure for any changes or modifications to the routes.
