Shock incident in Patras: Drug use reported in children’s park in front of families
According to local reports, the incident took place in the Psarofai district at Minos Square, where 13–15-year-old children were reportedly seen engaging in drug use during the evening hours while the area was occupied by parents and children.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that despite warnings from nearby residents, the behavior continued, prompting a mother to contact law enforcement. Police units, including DIAS motorcycle teams and patrol officers, were dispatched to the scene shortly after the call.
Greek media reports indicate that several individuals connected to the incident were taken to a local police station for questioning as authorities began an investigation into the circumstances.
Residents of the area claim that the neighborhood has faced recurring issues related to drug use and public safety in recent years. They allege that drug paraphernalia has previously been found in the vicinity, alongside occasional violent and disruptive incidents.
The case has reignited concerns over youth vulnerability, public space safety, and ongoing drug-related social challenges in urban areas of Greece.
