Racist attack on Romani family in Greece: Gunman fires at car with baby inside
In a racist attack in the village of Poliani, near Kalamata, a 67-year-old man opened fire with a shotgun on a Romani family collecting scrap metal. The family’s vehicle, which included a 29-year-old father, 27-year-old mother, and their 9-month-old baby, was shot at—fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to Efsyn.gr, the incident occurred Monday evening, when the attacker first threatened the family and then fired at their car as they were leaving.

Three of the firearms were registered to the suspect’s 44-year-old son, who was also detained for improper storage of firearms.
The 67-year-old attacker is facing attempted murder charges and is scheduled to appear before the Kalamata Court today. The investigation is being conducted by the Kalamata Criminal Investigation Department.
