On October 8, 2024, demonstrators gathered at Eleftheria Square in Athens, chanting "Freedom for Palestine" as they marched to the U.S. Embassy and then to the Israeli Embassy. Participants also voiced support for Lebanon, calling for an end to Israeli attacks on both Palestine and Lebanon.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, protester Eleftheria Athanasiou expressed concern over the worsening situation: “A year later, the situation is even worse, as Israel is now attacking Lebanon too. We are all watching the developments with anxiety.”

Another demonstrator, Babir Siriopoulos, said, “The war and genocide against Palestine have been ongoing for a year. Israel is the main actor, but the U.S., NATO, and the European Union also bear responsibility. The Greek government is complicit as well.”

Sara Hussein, a Moroccan living in Greece, added, “The genocide against Palestinians has been going on for a year. We will continue our fight until Palestine is free. Western countries are complicit by supporting Israel and thus contributing to this genocide.”

The protest highlighted growing solidarity with Palestine and Lebanon amid ongoing regional tensions.
